He states that although "Single Woman" is an uptempo who likes to play, it addresses the problems that women experience every day.
In "Single Ladies", BeyoncÃÆ'à © depicts alter ego Sasha Fierce, who appears in the second part of I Am... Sasha Fierce . Both singles were added to a rhythmic contemporary radio playlist on October 12, 2008; "Single Ladies" were sent to contemporary urban playlists on the same day, while "If I Were a Boy" was classified as a contemporary hit radio. Lyrical composition and interpretation
"Single Ladies" is uptempo dance-pop and R & amp; B with dancehall, disco and bounce influences. It's set at the same time, and uses staccato bounce-based bounce, Morse code beeps, ascending whistles in the background, and punchy organic punches. Instrumentation includes bass drums, keyboards and space synthesizers that sometimes zoom in and out; a commentator, Sarah Liss from CBC News, notes that their arrangement comes as a surprise rather than solid. According to the music sheet published on Musicnotes.com by Sony/ATV Music Publishing, "Single Ladies" is written in key E major and is played in a moderate groove with 96.9 beats per minute. Beyonc̮'̨ vocals ranged from the tone of F ? 3 to D 5 . It has E chords in the verses, and Bdim-C-Bdim-Am in chorus. J. Freedom du Lac of The Washington Post records the song features "vocal play".
"Single Ladies" is musically similar to Beyoncà © à © 2007 "Get Me Bodied"; Andy Kellman from Allmusic called it a "terrible setback" to the song. Stewart and Harrell said in an interview given to People magazine that the same rhythm of the two songs is "what Beyonce responds". Ann Powers of the Los Angeles Times sees the theme of the women's empowerment song as an extension of "Irreplaceable" (2006), and Daniel Brockman of The Phoenix notes that the use of " "like" it "resembles BeyoncÃÆ' à © 2005 single" Check on It ". Liss commented that the knock from "Single Woman" evokes African gumboot dance and Dutch double school singing, a view shared by Douglas Wolf magazine from Time . Trish Crawford of the Toronto Star concluded that "Single Ladies" is a "strong song of women's empowerment", and other music critics have noted her appeal for the fan base of Beyoncà © à © as an independent female song, BeyoncÃÆ'à © offer support for women who have separated from their bad boyfriends.
In "Single Ladies", BeyoncÃÆ' à © emphasizes his aggressive and sensual ego, Sasha Fierce. He displayed many attitudes in his voice, as stated by Nick Levine of Digital Spy. Echoing Levine's sentiments, Liss wrote that BeyoncÃÆ'à © sounded "very sassy". The lyrics reflect the post-break situation. Accompanied by a robot-like voice, the opening line of the song is call and response; BeyoncÃÆ'à © sings, "All single women", and background singers resonate at any time. In the first verse, BeyoncÃÆ'à © tells lately to a bad relationship after she "cried (crying) for three good years". She takes back her right to flirt, have fun, and find lovers more faithful than ever. BeyoncÃÆ' à © went out to celebrate with his friends at the club where he met new love. However, his ex-boyfriend watched him, and he directed the song to him. He then sings a chorus, which uses a minor chord and contains several hooks, "If you like it then you have to put the ring on it... Oh oh oh".
In the second verse, Beyonca à © tells her former lover that, since she is not trying to make things more permanent when she has a chance, she has no reason to complain now that she has found someone else. On the bridge, he insists that he wants his new love interest "to make such a prince and grab it, deliver it to 'destiny, to infinity and beyond ' " while "Prince Charming is left standing there like a second lead in romantic comedy ". Toward the end of the song, BeyoncÃÆ' à © took a more aggressive vocal approach and used the middle eight as she sang, "And like a ghost I will go". As he sings the reins for the third and last time, his vocals are everywhere in the music, as described by Frannie Kelley of NPR. Snooze continuously electronically until the song ends.

Music video
Background and concepts
The music video for "Single Ladies" was immediately taken after "If I Were a Boy", but received less attention during production than "high-gloss, high-profile" video for "If I Were a Boy". Both videos were recorded in black and white in New York City and directed by Jake Nava, with whom BeyoncÃÆ'à © has worked on previous music videos including "Crazy in Love" and "Beautiful Liar". "Single Ladies" is a choreography by Frank Gatson and JaQuel Knight, and incorporates J-Setting choreography. Both music videos were aired on MTV's Total Request Live event on October 13, 2008 to reinforce conflicting personality concepts. The videos were released to other media on the same date and later included on the remix album Beyoncà © à © with videography, Above and BeyoncÃÆ' à © , and the platinum edition of I Am... Sasha Fierce .
BeyoncÃÆ' © © told Simon Vozick-Levinson of Entertainment Weekly that the inspiration for the video was Bob Fosse's 1969 routine entitled "Mexican Breakfast" seen at The Ed Sullivan Show, which featuring Fosse's Wife, Gwen Verdon, dancing with two other women. "Mexican breakfast" has become an Internet virus sensation the previous summer after "Walk It Out" Unk dubbed as the original mix. BeyoncÃÆ'à © wants to try the same dance and finally, the choreography "Single Woman" is freely adapted from "Mexican Breakfast":
I see a video on YouTube. [The dancers] have a plain background and are shot on a crane; 360 degrees, they can move. And I said, 'This is genius.' We save a lot of Fosse choreography and add a bottom-south thing - it's called J-Setting, where one person does something and the next person follows. So it is a strange mix... Ã, It's like most urban choreography, mixed with Fosse - very modern and very vintage.
BeyoncÃÆ' à © want simple music videos; it was filmed with photographs and minimal alternate camera cuts, and no changes to hairstyles, costumes and sets. According to JaQuel Knight, Beyoncà © à © also want the video to feel "good and strong" and include choreography that anyone can try. On the day the video was taken, the song was divided into three parts. Nava deliberately used long shots so that the audience "will connect with the human effort of the stunning BeyoncÃÆ'à © dance", with all the changes in appearance, angle, and lighting that are executed directly on the camera because he wants to keep the nuances "very organic and unattractive ". This style is inspired by the photoshoot Vogue . In the video BeyoncÃÆ' à © puts on a titanium roboglove designed by his jeweler, Lorraine Schwartz, to complement Sasha Fierce's ego alter. Gloves are made up of several parts, including rings and separate components that cover the upper arm of Beyonce. She first wore roboglove on the red carpet at the MTV Europe Music Awards on November 8, 2008. The video recording took about twelve hours. Many of the song's performances were filmed without interruption, and edited together to give the impression that the last video was filmed in a single shoot.
Synopsis
In the video for "Single Woman", the emphasis is put on Beyonce's more aggressive and sensual side, her alter ego Sasha Fierce. It shows him in asymmetrical tricot and high heels, with two backup dancers, Ebony Williams and Ashley Everett. Mother Beyoncà © ©, Tina Knowles, designed a high-cut shirt after seeing something similar in American Chorus Line music and All That Jazz. The dance routines combine many styles, including jazz, tap, and hip hop, and are credited with popularizing J-Setting, leading the flamboyant and following a prominent dance style in many African American gay clubs in Atlanta and used by women J Prancing dance groups -Settes from Jackson State University.
The video features BeyoncÃÆ'à © and his two friends dance inside the infinite bay, which alternates between black and white and puts a focus on complex choreography. Throughout the video, the women click on their heels and wiggle their hips and legs. However, the ultimate goal is to draw viewers' attention to their hands and ring fingers as they make spinning hand movements. At one point during the video, the dancers ran to the wall, which, according to Frank Gatson Jr., paid tribute to Shirley MacLaine's acting in the 1969 film Sweet Charity. Towards the end of the video, BeyoncÃÆ' à © flash her own wedding ring on her finger.

In an interview with Chandler Levack for Eye Weekly , Toronto director Scott Cudmore stated that the Internet era has influenced the way music videos are made, as well as perceived by the audience.
