Lynnette Hardaway and Rochelle Richardson , known as Diamond and Silk , is an American live-stream video blogger and social media personality. They are known for their comments in favor of United States President Donald Trump. They maintain their presence on social media platforms Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
The duo received media attention during the 2016 campaign and again in April 2018 when they reported that Facebook had told them they were "unsafe for the public", and when they accused Facebook of blocking and censoring their Facebook pages. There is no evidence that Facebook is blocking or censoring Facebook's Diamond and Silk pages. In April 2018, the alleged censorship of Facebook against the duo was discussed on the testimony of Mark Zuckerberg before the US Congress.

Formerly the Democratic Party, their transition to the Republicans came when they saw Trump announcing his nomination on television. According to Hardaway, "When he announced and we heard everything he was fighting for, it was there and fired, and we've been on the Trump train ever since." They became widely known in 2015 as supporters of US presidential candidate Donald Trump after posting a video criticizing Fox News's former broadcaster, Megyn Kelly, for asking what they consider irrelevant questions during the first Republican presidential debate.

Politics and appearance
Although officially unaffiliated with the Trump campaign, they urged Trump's support through social media efforts and demonstrations and traveled to three states for the campaign. The duo first joined Donald Trump as "Stump for Trump Girls" onstage in Raleigh, North Carolina, on December 4, 2015. They then warmed up the crowd at the Trump rally on January 2, 2016, in Biloxi, Mississippi. They started a "Ditch and Switch" campaign to encourage Democrats to register as Republicans and create a website that explains to voters who claimed to have closed the preliminary election and when the deadline for changing party affiliations.
On November 2, 2016, Diamond and Silk appeared with Lara Trump, wife of Eric Trump, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, on behalf of the Trump campaign. They paid $ 1,274.94 for "field consulting" work by the Trump campaign. However, the duo claimed they were replaced for air fares only during their April 30th 2018 appearance at Hannity .
They regularly appear on Fox News shows including Hannity , Fox News Sunday , Watters' World , and The Ingraham Angle , and Fox & amp; Friends as well as ABC Nightline . Hardaway especially talks more, while Richardson often only states approval.
Racial racial
Following the Unite the Right controversy held in Charlottesville, Virginia, on 11 and 12 August 2017, Hardaway and Richardson, appeared on Fox & amp; Friends , being critical of the right and left wing groups who took part in the event. Hardaway criticized the Neo-Nazi and Ku Klux Klan groups for "spewing hatred and... creating violence" stating "they must all be punished and criticized. In the same interview, he also said he was not "... like Black Lives Matter and Antifa." They further noted that they felt the statues of Confederate Civil War soldiers should be kept in the museum.
Hardaway and Richardson, in December 2017, expressed support for Omarosa Manigault Newman after his controversial shooting as a liaison and assistant to the White House, blamed his treatment by African Americans and the media in general: "What I find horrible, for my brothers [is ] how you... can laugh at, pick, laugh at someone because they leave the White House or you listen to the obscene story Miss Piggy takes, go around to tell everyone. "In the same live stream they criticize Good Morning America anchor Robin Roberts to say, "Bye, Felicia" to Newman during a segment on the ABC show aired on December 14, 2017. Overcoming Roberts' comment, Hardaway said, "How would you like the community to appear and then when a sister is sitting in table, 'Well, he does not represent us' Are you crazy? "
Acceptance by the African American community
Hardaway and Richardson have been criticized by some African Americans for their support of Trump and conservative political standpoints as well as their own criticism of Black's personality. In January 2018, the couple responded to comments made by rapper Jay-Z on FOX News Channel Fox & amp; Friends , with Richardson stated, "... someone can also tell Jay-Z to stop crying like a little baby and a little trick because Trump is your president". Hardaway followed up the comments by claiming the rapper was "out of touch". The couple's comments in response to an interview January 27, 2018 with Jay-Z on CNN's The Van Jones Show . Hardaway is shown during Fox & amp; Friends interviewed that he believed Jay-Z should praise Trump because Black's unemployment rate declined during his presidency rather than criticizing him. According to Atlanta Black Star , responses from some African-American communities to their comments are generally negative.
YouTube
Hardaway and Richardson have asserted that YouTube has discriminated against them through the "demonetization" of their channel due to their support for Trump. The result, according to The Outline is the "stripping" of revenue from YouTube channel makers, including Diamond and Silk.
In April 2018, the couple announced on their Facebook page and via their Twitter account that they believed they had been victims of censorship by Facebook after receiving communications from the social media website's social networking team. According to Diamond and Silk, they have begun to question Facebook through phone calls, emails and chat sessions on alleged "censorship and discrimination against the D & amps brand page" in September 2017. Both women have declared a reduction in reaction to the post and videos since that time period and that followers are no longer receiving notifications about posts and videos. In Facebook tweets and posts, Hardaway and Richardson revealed a message from Facebook stating that the page content and the Diamond and Silk Facebook brands are considered "unsafe for the public." According to Hardaway and Richardson, messages sent from Facebook's policy team ended with, "This decision is final and can not be appealed in any way." Starting April 2018, their Facebook page states that they have nearly 1.3 million followers.
The Diamonds and Silk sensor claims are repeated in the media. According to CNN, Diamond and Silk claims likely influenced the April 2018 congressional hearing involving Mark Zuckerberg after the Cambridge Analytica scandal. Business Insider notes that Diamond and Silk are "frequent topics" during the hearing. Tennessee Republican Representative Marsha Blackburn resolved his question about Zuckerberg by stating, "Let me tell you something now, Diamond and Silk are not terrorism". Texas Republican representative Joe Barton asked Zuckerberg, "Why does Facebook censor conservative bloggers like Diamond and Silk?" Zuckerberg replied that Facebook employees had made a mistake and they had contacted Hardaway and Richardson.
Although there is no evidence that Diamond and Silk are censored or their page is blocked by Facebook, the couple continues to argue that. Facebook's own analytics company shows that Diamond & amp; Silk pages do not lose much influence on social networking. By the time Diamond and Silk spoke at a congressional hearing about their censorship claims, news outlets such as CNN and Business Insider described their censorship claims as being debunked. At trial, experts testified that there was no evidence that Intan and Sutra had been targeted. According to The Washington Post , "the numbers do not support the argument that the sisters have been suppressed."
Diamond and Silk stated that Facebook has not contacted them yet. Facebook says they are trying to contact via email, Twitter, phone, and Facebook Messenger. Diamond and Silk then say that messages sent to them via email should not be expected to be read, as they receive many emails.
2018 Congressional testimonial
On April 26, 2018, they appeared at the House Judiciary Committee hearing about allegedly filtering social media platforms. Sheila Jackson Lee's representative asked the duo if they ever received money from the Trump campaign, which Hardaway replied, "We have never been paid for by the Trump campaign." Two who stepped down after Representative Hakeem Jeffries reminded them that they could commit a false oath, indicating to them a Federal Election Commission submission reporting that the Trump campaign paid them $ 1,275 on November 22, 2016 for "field consultations." Diamond and Silk later stated that the payment was a replacement for the cost of a plane ticket. Following their testimony, the Huffington Post reports that, according to Trump Bradley Crate campaign treasurer, the payments have been categorized incorrectly.Crate states, "Campaign Payments for Diamond and Silk for field consultations based on the invoices they send reflect their costs for travel air to Campaign event. The invoice is not supported by the accompanying receipt, so as a technical issue, it can not be reported as a replacement even though the goal is to get them intact for their out-of-pocket expenses. "In the same Huffington Post article, it was reported that after the $ 7,025 payment from Paul Ryan's Paul Ryan election challenger campaign, Hardaway and Richardson supported Nehlen.
