Cradle 2 the Grave is the 2003 American action film directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak and starring Jet Li and DMX. The film was released in the United States on February 28, 2003.

Plot
The film opens with a group of thieves led by Anthony Fait trying to steal a diamond for a Frenchman named Christophe, who serves as an intermediary for a mysterious master. When Fait contacted Christophe, a Taiwan Intelligence Agency named Su interrupted the conversation and attempted to identify the criminals.
While the crew collected as many diamonds as possible, including a bag of black diamonds, Agent Su called Fait and demanded that he and his crew leave the diamonds in the safe, warning him that the police were on their way. However, Fait ignored this warning, and the criminals tried to escape boldly through the SWAT team blockade. While Fait, Daria, and Tommy all manage to escape, Agent Su catches Miles and restores Miles's part of the diamond. Su was disappointed to learn that Miles did not have a black diamond. Meanwhile, Fait asks his friend, Archie to rate the black diamonds he has stolen. Arriving at San Francisco International Airport, Christophe's mysterious employer, Ling, was told, by his assistant Sona, that Christophe had been attacked and that Fait and his gang had taken a black diamond.
That night, Fait meets Su. During this unintentional encounter, Fait receives a phone call from Ling, who demands that Fait submit a black diamond. Fait refused and was later attacked by two Ling's henchmen. With Su's help, he defeated them and fled. After the fight, Archie tells Fait that some gangsters come to his workshop and ask for a black diamond as well. After some doubts, Archie admits that he gave them to the gangsters to save his own life. Fait also received another call from Ling, who had kidnapped Fait's daughter, Vanessa, to persuade Fait to hand her a diamond. Now with the common enemy, Fait and Su team to recover the diamonds from the gangsters and rescue Vanessa from Ling.
Fait visits criminal nobles imprisoned "Jumping" Chambers, most likely an employer of gangsters who have robbed Archie. When Chambers refused to cooperate, Fait went to Chambers nightclub, hoping to find the stones somewhere in his office. The plan went awry, and Fait and the gang had to leave empty-handed. Meanwhile, Su and Archie go to the underground club to try to find gangsters who attack Archie. Because the club did not allow guests, Su was forced to enter as a fighter in the club's fight ring. During Su's battle, Archie sees the man they are looking for, recognizing the man's ring. Through this informant, they learn that diamonds are hidden in bubble baths at Chamber's office. When they return to the nightclub to pick up the diamonds, they discover that Ling's men are already picking up rocks. Meanwhile, when locked in the van, Vanessa is tied up and gagged free herself, and finds her cell phone to call her father. Just before the phone battery runs out, Vanessa gives some clues about her location. With this clue, the gang suspected Vanessa was being held at the airport hangar.
Realizing that Ling would want to auction off the stones, which is actually a weapon of mass destruction, the group is looking for flight schedules to find airports where large numbers of private flights will land that night. Finding the right airport, the group races to the hangar, where Ling's auction has started. The fight took place, and Fait and his crew took out members of Ling's team. However, Vanessa was saved and Ling was killed after Su forced her to swallow the synthetic plutonium capsule and then break the capsule around her neck. When the police arrived, Fait promised to end his criminal career to live a safe and happy life with Vanessa.
In the bonus scenes during the credit, Tommy and Archie made plans to make films with their stories, and used famous actors, such as Mel Gibson and Denzel Washington. They plan to get the movie director Exit Wounds and Romeo Must Die (Andrzej Bartkowiak).

The film reunites actors Jet Li, DMX and Anthony Anderson with Polish film director Andrzej Bartkowiak, who first teamed up in 2000's Romeo Must Die, and with Drag-On and Tom Arnold in the film 2001 Exit .
Reception
The film received mixed reviews. On the Rotten Tomatoes site, the film holds a 26% rating from critics, reading the consensus "Dumb and by-the-number, but it can be used."
According to Roger Ebert, the two stars deserve better scripts, but the film fulfills the need for some action movie fans.
Box office
The film debuted at number one at the North American box office, grossing $ 16,521,468 in its opening weekend. However, this accounts for 47.6% of the total $ 34,712.347 gross. Gross film worldwide stands at $ 56,489,558.
