The Diamond Calk Horseshoe Company from Duluth, Minnesota, USA was founded in 1908 by the blacksmith Otto Swanstrom. Originally producing horse shoe with a special type of chalk to improve the animal footing on slippery surface, the company successfully adapted to the development of motorized transportation for the masses and produced a variety of adjustable wrenches and pliers beginning in the 1920s. The family-owned company was sold to Triangle Corporation in 1981; The triangle itself is eventually sold to Cooper Tools.
