The Canyons Resort is one of three alpine ski resorts located in Park City, Utah. Prior to 2015, there were 19 hanging chairs, 4,000 acres (1,600Ã, ha) of ski fields and 355 inches (9,000 mm) average of snow each winter, making the Canyon the largest ski and snowboard resort in Utah. The base area is 32 miles (51 km) from Salt Lake City International Airport, accessed via Interstate 80, and four miles (7 km) from Main Street in Park City along State Route 224.
In the summer of 2010, the Canyon significantly improved by Talisker Corporation to compete with other nearby resorts. Vail Resort announced plans to combine the Canyons Resort with Park City Mountain Resort through an interconnecting gondola between Iron Mountain in the Canyons and the Silverlode lift at PCMR by 2015. Description of resort
Ngarai Resort includes nine mountain tops with a maximum altitude of 9,990 feet (3,040 m) at Puncak 9990. The terrain has 182 trails, five bowls, six natural tugs, and three terrain parks. Side mount and backcountry skiing around the National Forest can be accessed through gates found at several peaks. Since 2010 the Canyon has organized an annual race as part of the Sprint Grand Prix of Skicross and Snowboardcross.
In the summer, the Canyons Resort has an extensive open road system for mountain biking or hiking. The resort also operates two zip lines and a mini golf course.
Like most four seasons resorts, Canyons Resort has many dining options, shopping and upscale lodging. The village also hosts many concerts throughout the year in its outdoor amphitheater.
