Spring Mountain Ranch State Park is a public recreation area located within the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area in Nevada's Cottonwood Valley, five miles (8.0 km) northwest of Blue Diamond, Nevada. This state park retains the historic Sandstone Ranch, which was incorporated into Historic Historic Places Places as a historic district in 1976.

Initial breeding history Edit

In the mid-1830s, campsites were erected along the washing that flowed on the farm. Tributaries with springs and grassy meadows form an oasis for travelers using an alternative route from the Spanish Trail through Cottonwood Valley. The use of the site by train and train wagon continued until its successor by train in 1905. This remote trail was also used extensively by criminals involved in Indian slave trade, horse theft and raids after passing the caravan. In 1840, a group of Americans and Ute Indians made a famous raid on Mexican Ranchos in California. Mountain Man Bill Williams, a member of the raiding group, took his horse through Red Rock Canyon where he rested the horses from a difficult journey across the desert. Apparently he visited the area several times and although Williams never lived on the property, the site was known as "Williams Old Farm" or "Bill Williams Ranch."

The common view is the marigold desert, the mallow world, the brittlebush, the Joshua Tree, the mojave yucca, and the tilapia.Enimal animals are diverse but nocturnal, so many species are invisible.various lizards and snakes, antelope, ground squirrel, jackabab, cottontail rabbits, kit foxes, and coyotes, higher elevation species including rock squirrels, weasels, mule deer, and bighorn sheep.
